Time flys when your having fun

Hello World! ok so I know it has been a month and a half since I have blogged (literally). Im very sorry, we have been very busy the past couple of months. Between school and work and the holidays coming up we have had too much to do. I will try my best to be short and sweet about what happened in October and the beginning of November.

1. Ocotober- We had meagan's homecoming, our first dentist appointment, fall party at school, visiting the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, and Lane's favortie trick-or-treating!

Colby carved Lane a mickey mouse pumpkin! Lane was VERY excited.  This year for halloween Lane choose his own costume, he picked out Thomas the train. He went around the house saying choo choo! I was very proud of him when we went trick or treating and he said thank you after people gave him candy. we have been working really hard on our manners (somedays are better than others!) We had alot of fun and got to see all of our family on halloween.

So far November has been pretty relaxed. Lane is enjoying KDO he has made so many new friends. One of my closest friends, Emily, has a daughter who just turned 2. Her name is Leighlah! We got the honor of attending her birthday party which was so much fun. In November at KDO we got to have pajama and donut day! Lane chose to wear his favorite monkey pajamas and I just happened to get this sweet picture.
He absolutely loves monkeys. They are his favorite animal!
We are currently on Thanksgiving break (Thank the Lord)!!! So far Lane has told me he is thankful for his family, friends, puppup, and the t.v. so he can watch mickey mouse haha. We are looking forward to spending some time with our family, and the Hog game on Friday! W88 Pig S88ie!!! (Im sure you have all heard but the U of A had a freshman football player pass away this weekend. His number was 88-God bless you Garrett!) Anyways Lane wants to wish all of you a happy turkey day, and I will try to be better about blogging!

Fire Trucks and Hog Sooie

So it has been awhile since my last post. We have been so busy with school and other activities. Lane is doing well at KDO. He loves to make me crafts and see me on the playground. He has just started to go into his class without crying which for us has been a hard bump in the road to get past. I have been so proud of all his accomplishments! Here are two of my favorite things that have happened this week.

Lane absolutely loves fire trucks! He has a little red one that he pushes around and turns the siren on, and pretends he is saving "peoples" from a fire. This past Sunday was September 11, 2011 and our church was honoring emergency reponders, firemen, police, ect, Lane saw the big yellow fire trucks and wanted to go look at them. He thought they were so cool!

Isnt he just the cutest thing? Boy does he love "lellow" fire trucks!

My 2nd favorite moment actually happened today. Today the high was like 65 degrees, which after topping off the high 90s the past 3 months seemed pretty cold. So this morning before school I was trying to pick out lane's clothes, and he decided he would help me. We looked in his closet and he pointed to his "hog sooie" outfit (red and white Arkansas wind suit). He looked so cute! He loved zipping up his jacket and showing me his hog on his pants. Lane loves the  hogs! We were on the playground together so I decided to take some pics. The last one is my favorite!

This one I asked him to say cheese and this is what he does! haha!

Favorite Pictures

Today I have been looking through pictures of Lane's 2nd year trying to decide which pictures I want to print for his scrap book.  There are so many I just don't know how I will ever choose! So I decided to start with his 2nd birthday. April 2, 2011!

We started off the day (well actually the day before) by going to Gentry to drive through the safari! Lane has been to the Tulsa zoo, but he was pretty little so we thought this would be a fun adventure for his 2nd birthday. He loved all the animals. Lane was so excited because A) he loves animals! and B) he got to "drive" daddy's car. Wow only 2 and already driving. Ahhhhh! We had so much fn driving around seeing all the animals, and after that we even got out of the car to pet some animals. I think Lane's favorite animals were the little baby spider monkeys that wore diapers. Lane thought that was pretty funny!

The next day we headed off for his birthday party at one of his favorite places. Boingo Bouce! Boingo bouce is this big building that has giant bounce houses, slides, ect.. inside! If you have ever watched little kids try to bounce on these things its pretty funny. Lane was so excited, he couldnt wait to have the whole place to himself (someone is a LITTLE spoiled! can you tell?) Our theme that we had decided on was Thomas the train. He used to be one of our favorite things that is until we discovered Mickey Mouse clubhouse. Anyway we had all our family come to help celebrate his big day. It was wonderful! On the way home Lane looked at me and colby and said thank you momma and daddy for taking me to boing bounce! aweeeeee how precious is he!
After all the fun we had bouncing, we went to party room to have birthday cake and open presents. Colby and I knew we wanted to get Lane something special for his birthday. We just didnt really know exactly what to get him. Well one day I decided that he was big enough for a car to drive all on his own. I know a lot of kids dont get something like this until they are older, but we had total faith that Lane could handle it. One day we took him to toys r us and let him look at all the cars. Well of course he picked out the yellow camero! Which was sooooo cute I was already sold on getting it for him until I saw the price. Then the camero was out! So sadly we left toys r us without a purchase. A couple of days later I got on amazon.com and discovered the cutest thing. I knew Lane would love it! We got it ordered, colby put it together, and on his birthday this was the surprise that he got! Lightning McQueen! He LOVES driving his very own car around!

First Day at KDO!

Ok so for months I (Lauren-Lane's mom)  have had people asking me to put up pictures of lane to keep them posted. Well...that hasnt happened. I havent found the time to sit down each day upload pictures and write a small paragraph about what is happening in his life these days! So i decided to start a blog! Here you go friends and family I hope you enjoy!

So today was a sad day for me. My precious baby (although hes really a big boy) started preschool! We started the day off at 6:45 am by him telling me it was time to watch Jake and the Neverland Pirates. This is most likely his favorite t.v. show besides Mickey Mouse Club-house. As the morning dragged on we got ready to load up in the car and head off to our first day at KDO. yes! it was my first day as well I am a new teacher this year to a wonderful group of 2 yr olds! We arrived at about 8:25 so Lane got to hangout in my room for a bit and help me get ready. At 8:50 I forgot that I needed to take a "first day of schoool" picture so I tried my best and this is all I got.

Ya he would not smile nor would he even look at me! Oh well I still think he looks adorable :) Lane and I get to be out on the playground at the same time so thats fun for both of us. I picked him up at 2:10 and got an AWESOME report from both his teachers. Of course I was very pleased! What a blessing I have received from God to be this little boy's mom, and how grateful I am that I get to spend so much time with him.
P.S. The best thing happened today
My son went potty IN the potty for the first time since he started wearing pullups!and wait...yes, he actually gets excited when he does it all by himself! Praise the Lord my child LIKES to go potty. (the first time I tried to just sit him on the potty this summer he cried) yay! So I guess my next adventure is figuring out this whole potty training system.
Over all I'd say it was an awesome day for mom and son!
